Space-3 Technologies Background

Our capabilities are based on the experience of Mr. Bryant Walker and Mr. Raymond Walker in the field of aerospace materials and processes. The foundation of our capability is 60 collective years’ experience developing advanced gas turbine and rocket engine alloys and manufacturing processes at Pratt & Whitney’s Florida Research & Development Center. Known in the defense industry as the “Walker Brothers”, they have developed and implemented many industry breakthroughs that are the foundation of today’s generation 5 fighter aircraft and propulsion systems.

Following their extensive engineering careers at Pratt & Whitney, they formed Keystone Synergistic Enterprises and for 22 years continued developing innovative materials and process technologies working with the Army, Navy, Air Force, and NASA and most of the major defense contractors. The next evolution was Keystone being acquired by ARCTOS Technology Solutions and several of the primary Keystone technologies were transitioned into ARCTOS for further development and deployment with DOD customers.

Turning to new topics of innovation and research, Space-3 Technologies was formed to expand the Walker’s expertise in three primary regimes of defense and commercial technologies: the marine industry, aerospace materials, and space and lunar materials and manufacturing.  In the hydrospace environment, the focus is on advanced low-cost high-speed vessel design concepts and the application of aerospace alloys and manufacturing for marine components and systems.  In aerospace, the focus is on advancements in directed-energy additive manufacturing for structures, repairs, and hypersonics applications as well as research in alloy microstructure and property enhancements.  Applying aerospace expertise to space and lunar surface materials and manufacturing has a focus on raw material development, additive methods for lunar structures, and innovative joining methods for in-space fabrication.
